The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

THE GOOD...

Jackson's 8th tooth finally broke through, so he's been in a great mood lately. Ross has been busy working the shuttle flight, which means JD and I have had some fun, quality time together. Here are a few pics from playing around the house on Sunday.

What to do next?

We also had another ultrasound done at my last appointment, which was over a week ago...sorry for the delay! This was for the nuchal translucency test. It was fun to get to see the little one again so soon, but apparently it's harder to see through scar tissue (from my c-section), which meant it was harder to get a good pic to share. The little one didn't want to cooperate either. He or she was moving all over the place, which was very different from Jackson. Jackson didn't move at all. I remember them shaking my belly to try to get him to change positions, but I guess he was comfortable. Here's one of the better pics of Baby Taylor #2 from the visit.

THE BAD...

Of course, along with the good comes the bad. Last week Jackson fell at daycare. He landed on a chair with his mouth and almost put a tooth through his lip. After a couple of popsicles and some extra TLC from his teachers, he was good to go. I have to say I've been impressed with how quickly it's healing!

THE UGLY...

We are in the midst of our first home repair. After only 3 weeks in our new house, a wet spot appeared on the ceiling in our living room! We had someone come out to look at it today, but even they couldn't figure out where it came from. There aren't any pipes near that area. After they left, Ross noticed a very small spot in another ceiling upstairs that's fairly close to the area downstairs and both are close to a wall, so we're wondering if it's a roof problem or something...the roof was replaced last year though! Hopefully, we can get it figured out and fixed soon. In the mean time, there's now a hole in the ceiling of our living room!

I feel for ya on the teething! Corbin's been going through that these past few months and it's not fun. :(

I hope the leak gets fixed soon! That's so frustrating.

In Hot Water

Ok, so we're not in trouble, but our pipes and guest bathroom are! A pipe in the attic from our hot water heater burst tonight and flooded the bathroom. Ross quickly saved the day. He managed to turn off the water and drain the hot water heater before too much water got in the bathroom. He is in the attic right now removing the insulation that got soaked so the ceiling can dry out. I guess we'll be calling a plumber in the morning and taking cold showers until it's fixed!

Aside from that we've had a great weekend. We spent most of it hanging out with friends and enjoying our time with Jackson. We've been procrastinating on our "to do" list, so we still haven't even put away our Christmas decorations!

Can your dog do this...

...much damage to a door frame in an hour?

Apparently ours can! I went to lunch with a friend yesterday and came home to this, a half eaten loaf of bread, and poop all over the living room. My best guess is that she decided she wanted the bread, so she somehow got it off the kitchen counter. Then after eating half of it, she felt sick and really needed to go outside. Since no one was here, and she knows it's wrong to go inside, she started attacking the door frame trying to get out...the door is metal, so she wouldn't have made much progress on it. Needless to say, I was upset and she was miserable for the rest of the day. Her stomach was bigger than her head! I guess we'll be getting a new door and frame in the near future...

OOOOOOHHHH.. how I know that feeling! Yesterday, both Brandon and I worked longer hours and when I came home, Lucy had torn up the couch cushions! She had managed to pull them out of the couch itself, dig under the couch cover to get to the "meat" of it and proceed to pull out the stuffing all over the living room. Can you say White Christmas?!? I would've posted a pic on our blog but I couldn't find the camera anywhere... oh that dog:)
